The Perry UMC Children's Department is continuing to adapt programming to sustain the spiritual growth of the children of our church. Due to the unknowns surrounding the virus, all in-person activities have been suspended. We are working daily on a plan to gather again as soon as that is allowed. Please watch the PUMC Children's Department Facebook page for updates on virtual events. You can find that page by clicking here.

Acolytes in Worship
Our 2nd-5th grade children serve as worship leaders in our morning services by bringing in the light of Christ and the cross. Contact Bethany Ballard, Acolyte Coordinator, if your child is interested in being an acolyte
Loving Unconditionally Children with Autism and Special Needs
Our LUCAS Ministry serves children and youth with special needs. We have a group of trained volunteers who serve during the Sunday school and 11:00 church hour on Sunday mornings so that parents and caregivers are able to worship while their children are in good hands.
We have 2 “soft rooms” that provide a safe place for play and lessons for children of all ages. Our younger special needs classroom is on the main floor of the Educational Building adjacent to the nursery. This room is for children with special needs from age 4-2nd grade. Our older special needs classroom is downstairs in the basement of the Educational Building on the Children's Sunday school hall. This room is for children with special needs in 3rd-5th grade.
The LUCAS ministry form will equip us to be able to better serve your child. you can find it here. Please print it, complete it, and bring it with you the first time you attend.
The Perry UMC Nursery is open to babies 6 weeks of age through children 4 years old.
Our nursery is always open on Sunday mornings and during most church events.
We have a staff of 5 ladies in our nursery who love children and are mothers or teachers themselves.
The nursery area is divided into an infant room and a toddler room, but children are all checked in at the main entrance.
We do have a nursing room available if mothers need it.
