Music ministry

Perry United Methodist Church has a long tradition of excellent music in worship, and the numerous and varied groups which participate are an integral part of this tradition. "Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy." -- Psalm 33:3

The many gifted individuals and groups who are a part of our extensive music ministry richly enhance our worship experience. Through the glorious sounds of voices, instruments, and handbells, we celebrate the joyful bond between God and our community of faith. There is a place for you in the Perry United Methodist Music Ministry!

If you enjoy singing, now is a great time to join one of our choirs!

The Sanctuary Choir cantata, Sing Gloria!, will be accompanied by orchestra and presented on December 12 at 9:00 and 11:00. This concert of worship is a collection of unique and thrilling arrangements of familiar carols. The publisher describes the collection as "Christmas music at its best." Christmas music rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 6:45 p.m. in the sanctuary.

JOY Choir (older adults) meets weekly at 11:00 in the Fellowship Hall. Bring your lunch and join us for a fun time of fellowship and singing. Our Christmas musical,
Celebrate! The Wonder and Joy of Christmas, was composed especially for older adult singers, with large print and no repeats.  The performance is scheduled for December 5 at 5:00. Fun, festive, and familiar!

The Sanctuary Bells rehearse on Mondays at 7:00 in the  handbell room to prepare fall and Advent music.

The Children's Choirs (ages 4-5th grade) meet during TreeHouse Trades on Wednesdays from 4:00-6:00 in the Back Porch.
